VEHICLE/VESSEL/LANDSIDE INTEGRATED SURVEILLANCE KITS

Mast-Mounted Integrated Surveillance Kit for Vehicles

Athenx delivered a 20-foot custom Mast-Mounted 36X Day/Night and 100mm Thermal Camera System that was custom designed and integrated to fit the bed of a Southwestern Sheriff’s Office Border Patrol Ford Raptor Truck.  The head end and display was installed inside the truck.  The delivered solution was custom designed and integrated by Athenx to meet strict requirements set forth by the Sheriff’s Office.  Most notably, the solution met the requirement for the user to be able to remotely focus the optics allowing their authorized personnel to monitor events or targets at a safer standoff distance. The DRS Jalapeño HRV Continuous Zoom Thermal Imaging and 36X Day/Night Camera System, supplied by Sierra Olympic Technologies, was selected for this solution as it also met the requirement for a 100mm lens with the highest resolution and the widest field of view with the greatest sensitivity for thermal detection in its class. The installed turnkey solution was also integrated with a ruggedized embedded PC server, joystick controller, ruggedized PC laptop with docking station and mounts, video encoder and network switch to provide the Sheriff’s Office with the ability to view, monitor and record video directly from the cab of their truck.  In addition the housing for the retractable mast had to be custom designed to fit down in the bed of the truck.  The Sheriff’s Office recently requested Athenx to design a system upgrade.  The proposed system design includes the implementation of a long range thermal camera system for the mobile command center and body worn cameras for the SWAT teams.  In addition, a mesh, WiFi and cellular connectivity network was included in the design so that all networked video surveillance sources can be viewed remotely or at the mobile command center.

Multi-Platform Vessel/Land Integrated Surveillance Kits

Athenx designed and developed a fully integrated gyro stabilized and image stabilized video surveillance and recording solution for a Police Department, Port Division patrol and fire vessel(s).  The solution was custom developed to operate in the extremely harsh marine environment in both day and night conditions with the capability to capture and record evidence suitable for use in criminal and civil proceedings.  Automatic video tracking, radar tracking and AIS tracking are also included in the solution to allow agents to focus on events at a scene rather than on the operation of our solution.  To maximize the investment, the selected RVision Day/Night and Thermal Imaging video surveillance cameras are one person portable and are re-deployable as a landside application with an Athenx provided mobile video surveillance kit.  The landside solution includes the ability to transmit video via wireless networks including, WiFi, cellular and an existing mesh infrastructure where available.   The video can be transmitted back to a Command Center.
